GearJunkie reader Jost Kobusch, a 21-year-old from Germany, climbed the iconic Ama Dablam in Nepal this spring. He ascended solo and with no oxygen on the 22,493-foot peak. This video is a thorough point-of-view look at the whole adventure, from Katmandu, the flight to Lukla, the trek, and to the iconic summit in the Khumbu of Nepal. Congrats to Kobusch. Good job young man! —Stephen Regenold

An aside: The video has some wild 360-degree shots. We asked how he captured these solo (no one filming him). “I used a self-built tool, which is fixed on the helmet, and I balanced it with a counterweight on the other side of a 3-meter telescope pole.” Great idea!
