Black Diamond Rechargeable Uber-Headlamp
September 19, 2006, 1:16 pm / Categories: Technology
Black Diamond’s latest headlamp offering—the Icon model—has a 3-watt LED with 55 hours of burn time. Translation: Bright beam for a long time. To boot, the headlamp is rechargeable. (It comes with a cord; you plug the headlamp into the wall to charge up.)
Four small LEDs ring the main bulb and can be used for hiking, camp chores or reading in a tent. The Icon includes a battery power meter that glows red, yellow or green, depending on how much time is left on the battery (green = 50% or more; yellow = 20% or more; red = less than 20%). Cost is $60. Available in November. www.bdel.com
