10-Second Video: Powder, Tele Turns, and a Cliff Drop
December 1, 2012, 11:19 am / Categories: Winter Gear
Earlier this month, we launched the “Blink of an Eye” video contest, which called for the best 10-second outdoor adventure videos. The submissions streamed in, and a winner emerged…
Congratulations to Evan Kay for winning the “Blink of an Eye” Video Contest sponsored by V.I.O.!
Kay’s video, “Vermont’s Finest,” showcases Kay and his ski pal Jay Moltz tearing it up in the backcountry of Killington, Vt. The video is aesthetically on-point and captures the thrill of backcountry skiing in 10 seconds. Not to mention, it made us itch for ski season!
For his efforts, we’re sending a V.I.O. POV camera unit, a Suunto Vector HR altimeter watch, and a Gerber Remix Tactical knife to Vermont.
We should add that one of our in-house video guys put together a 10-second clip of his own for fun. Not too shabby…

Great job on the ski vid! I like the way that the jump was captured – the flip back from the two perspectives was cool! The in house video was no slouch either! Slow mo jump prep, Killer jump shot, time freeze, flashback/memory flash and some kinda freeze frame motion stop effect… dang! All in ten seconds – it was a mini-movie, and made me want to experience that same feeling! Very well done!
