Chaco 'Go-Anywhere' Sandal

Wearing sandals in a semi-formal setting without committing a fashion faux pas isn’t something many adventurers worry about. But Chaco does. The sandal maker created the Paradox to help you “go anywhere and do anything” while being comfortable in fast-drying water shoes that enclose your foot in webbing.

The footbed and midsole are designed to support your foot in any type of terrain, the company touts. Chaco’s “Getagrip” outsole helps keep your foot planted firmly on the ground.

To me, a pair of the Paradox look like a cross between a sandal and a boat shoe. They are currently available in brown or gray for men and “pesto” color or brown for women. Price is $110. www.chacousa.com

Hey do these “shoes” tighten around the feet like the standard Chacos, or do they only adjust at the ankle?

Looks like the cross web strips are elastic to keep it tight. Hard to tell.

They do only adjust at the instep. According to the company, “The woven webbing upper does conform to foot with gore at strategic locations in the weave.”
