How to Enter: The reader with the best response to the question — Why do you NEED the Old Town Camden 120 kayak this winter? — will win. It’s that simple. Answer in 140 characters or less (or about two sentences) on GearJunkie’s Facebook page or on Twitter using the hashtag #SPOTHOLIDAY. Bonus points awarded based on incorporating the words “Old Town” and/or “Gerber” into the post.

We’ll assess all the answers and subjectively pick the one we think is the best. Be creative and fun, and make a true and good case for why you need a kayak! Contest ends on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 11:59p.m. We will announce the winners shortly thereafter. Good luck!

The reason you should ask me where to send my Awesome New Old Town Camden 120 Kayak is because I am a bad mamma jamma!!! I used to kayak all the time but had to sell my kayak which I have regret everyday. I would love to be able to kayak with my buddies but cant afford to purchase one at the time. We could have an awesome weekend and spend the day kayaking and then set up camp and use my Awesome Gerber Mini-Remix which my friends would be drolling over haha. I would love to win something even if it was just a sticker so please PICK ME!!!

Because we recently learned that our son will have trouble walking. So screw legs let’s teach him to paddle!

Posted by DO - 12/15/2010 03:16 PM

I would like this for my boy scout troop to teach kayaking to the scouts and help build confidence in some of my “special needs” scouts.

Because I plan to propose to my wonderful girlfriend, and would love to add this kayak as part of the proposal! (She loves paddling, but has no kayak!)

I NEED the Old Town Camden 120 kayak this winter so I can lose all of this weight that I am putting on from the holidays and all of this new weight from quitting smoking . Nothing beats a crystal clear lake surrounded by snow covered landscape all from the views of a kayak.

I’d give the Old Town Camden 120 Kayak to my son so he can explore new rivers with his Dad and I The Gerber Mini-Remix to add to camp gear

I need the Old Town Camden because my wife and son have taken over my Old Town Discovery 158. And my daughter has taken over my Old Town Vapor 10.

I desperately need the Old Town Camden because my husband WILL NOT let me paddle alone. If I had another kayak, I could grab a friend, hit the water, and rejoice in the special peace that it brings. “Paddle for Peace!”

I would love to have the Old Town Camden because last spring I came down to Old Town to the sale to purchase a kayak and yes, I came home with one. However. my husband was going to use the kid’s little one with a weight restriction of 220 lb……AND he is 6’6 and weighs 230. We thought we’d give it a shot and out we went. He was even with the water and it started to pour in the top, and we ended up switching. So, with the the Old Town Camden, we would be able to go together in comfort and he won’t be waterlogged. lol. :)

I need an Old Town Camden Kayak to defeat the French Navy and the knives to conquer the mainland.

Well. Most of the waterways are frozen here, but I am dyeing to take this thing down the Zugspitze like a Christmas sled.

I think I deserve both of the kayak and the knife more than any of the people above me because at least I read the directions on how to enter the contest (hint: you must post on facebook or twitter, not on this page).

I deserve both the kayak and the knife so I can learn to use a knife and use a kayak

I just sold my car… and most of my belongings to come intern in Patagonia for the Wenger Patagonian Expedition Race here in Chile. Having a kayak down here to explore would be such an awesome gift! The knife would have come in handy when we went camping/backpacking in the Torres del Paine this past week. It would be great to have for future trips!

My nine year old ‘Gerber baby’ and I go old-school camping around Old Town(s) and lakes in Alberta, Canada. We’d love to strap that goldenrod Camden 120 to our roof rack and head out on the water instead of watching people from the shoreline this year! **Best Mom Ever award just around the bend! ;)

I am ready to take the Old Town Camden on a world adventure documenting how many people that get to experience the joy of paddling.

I would love to win the old town Camden 120 I would love to use it on the sloops starting a new sport (Skiyaking)WooHoo blasting down the sloop…
The knife would be cool also.

I would enjoy the oldtown because my significant other already has one and well it’s just no fun paddling around alone all the time. Also I’d like to paddle around the world just because it’s freaking round! I’ll also share my winnings with whomever is in the pacific north west. Perhaps we can raffle it back off next season. I’m cool with a “test ride” in order to share the love of the outdoors. Cheers and happy holidays to those who celebrate and happy festivus for the rest of us!

I would love to own a kayak, to travel the rivers, then use it as a casket, when I leave this earth. Sounds like a plan to me!

Posted by mary - 12/18/2010 08:52 AM

Would love the chance to own an Old Town camden kayak!!! I love to kayak, being outside, peace on a lake.. I recently quit smoking and will need to stay healthy, and what better way to exercise, I am 55yrs old and have loved to kayak for a long time. I had to sell my kayak last year due to money problems…….

Posted by Mike Roberts - 12/18/2010 02:18 PM

SO MY SON WILL LEAVE KAYAK ALONE SO I CAN GO FISHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Mike Davis - 12/20/2010 02:48 PM

I would love to win this Old Town kayak.
I just spent all my money on everybody else but me for Christmas.

I’m teaching my kids how to paddle but need a larger yak for my older daughter, can you help me out? Thanks Santa.

Posted by Donovan - 12/20/2010 06:41 PM

Becouse it’s Steelhead season on the Nehalem River in Oregon!!!!

Posted by Tracy Ramsey - 12/20/2010 06:52 PM

I need one so we can put an extra boat in the water with the Des Moines River Rescue unit, and so I can join the rest of the guys with the Police Paddle Club,“The River Pigs” on an outing or two. I have an old canoe, but a kayak is faster and more maneuverable. It’s a bit like the difference between a tactical pursuit interceptor, and a standard issue squad car.

Posted by Ben Campbell - 12/20/2010 11:19 PM

The reason we would like one? Our family is currently expanding, and having grown up around local rivers, I look forward to sharing the outdoors with my daughters! With our current life so busy, we are looking to relax more in 2011, so send one our way, and we will paddle away. Thanks, and Merry Christmas to all!!

Posted by Christopher Sorel - 12/21/2010 11:04 AM

The reason I could use one is that mine is gone. My son thought it would be fun to throw in some rocks that then broke the bottom of ours.

Posted by Vicky - 12/21/2010 08:22 PM

I NEED the Old Town Camden 120 kayak this winter because my friends have one and I have never tried it. It would be nice to surprise them that I can.

Posted by Richard - 12/22/2010 09:50 AM

I can’t recall if I commented on this contest just like I can’t recall where my kayak is…I’d sure like a new one!

My Grandson’s in Afghanistan and that makes me very nervous,
When he comes home in May I’d like to thank him for his service.
I’ll keep the nice Gerber Remix for me
but the Old Town Kayak’s for him, don’t you see?
