Cyber Monday Gear Deals
November 30, 2009, 8:04 am / Categories: Winter Gear
Maybe you missed the free gift cards and “Black Friday” deals at REI. Today is “Cyber Monday,” one of the busiest days of the year for retail electronic commerce in the United States. For gear junkies, that means trolling the ODAT (one-deal-at-a-time) websites like Steep and Cheap, Bonktown, and GearSlash.com. Or, true dedicated gear junkies might do their online shopping right here on GearJunkie.com’s Gear Shop!
Launched in August, the GJ Gear Shop is an independent source to hundreds of brands and thousands of products — from hiking boots to mountain bikes. Here are a few of Gear Junkie’s favorites, including Top 10 Gear of the Year picks like the Original Buff, Nuun hydration tablets, and Inov-8 shoes.
> THE BUFF (How do people live without these versatile headwear products? A longtime GJ favorite.)
> INOV-8 SHOE PAGE (For trail running — or off-trail running — these shoes are some of the best.)
> NUUN HYDRATION TABLETS (Pop a Nuun tablet in your water for an instant electrolyte boost.)
> WENGER KNIFE (A Swiss Army Knife is a classic gift. This one is made for mountain bikers.)
> CASTELLI CYCLING APPAREL (Italian cycling wear — from road biking to mtb. Good stuff.)
> KEEN SANDALS (Popular sandals with the anti-stubbing toe-guard design.)
> WIGWAM WOOL SOCKS (Cozy and athletic cuts from the Sheboygan, Wis., sock maker.)
> THE NORTH FACE DENALI FLEECE (Among the best selling outerwear pieces of all time.)
Happy shopping!

“Today is “Cyber Monday,” one of the busiest days of the year for retail electronic commerce in the United States”
No its not. “cyber monday” was made up as a marketing gimmick in 2005 and after year the media repeats the same lie. The busiest online days are usually mid december.
