Grand Prize Winner!
July 12, 2010, 12:33 pm
As announced last week, the Gear Junkie’s “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke” on Sunday, July 11, had a grand prize of a SylvanSport GO trailer. We are thrilled today to announce that Jason Nuss of Chesapeake, Va., is the winner of this $6,995 prize!
Nuss completed the full course at the Treasure Hunt, running for 112 minutes through Roanoke’s Explore Park to find and punch a card at 15 hidden flags. Along with Nuss, there were just eight other racers (out of 300+ participants) who managed to “clear the course” like this in full.
At the end of the Treasure Hunt, the elite nine “course clearing” racers got in a line for a random chance to win. We added their names on slips of paper into a box. Gear Junkie (Stephen Regenold) shuffled the names and grabbed a slip. “And the winner is. . . JASON NUSS!” he shouted. Hugs and cheers, and Nuss ran to the front to claim his prize.
Congrats to Nuss and all the racers! A HUGE thanks for SylvanSport for its participation in the inaugural “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke” event!

This was a fantastic event. My first adventure race and it was a Total BLAST !!!
The Nuss Clan got us involved in this and we spent the day at Explore Park just enjoying the festivities with our friends. We were so proud of Jason and E-Man Nuss for sweeping the course and THEN one of the “brother” team winning the Grand Prize. Congratulations guys !!!
Thanks Odessey and Gear Junkie. I hope you will do this annually. It truly did ROCK !!!!
