Inner Tube Messenger Bags
November 18, 2009, 1:56 pm / Categories: Biking
Eco-friendly hipsters can connect with their inner environmentalist with Green Guru’s line of “upcycled” inner tube messenger bags. The two styles are made with recycled bike inner tubes, giving them an urban look and commuter functionality.
The Recycler, new this fall, is a 1,044-cubic-inch messenger bag made from eight flattened mountain bike inner tubes. It has a quick-release padded shoulder strap and a Velcro-and-buckle flap closure. Laptop sleeve and organization pockets are included.
The Vulcar is a 1,060-cubic-inch messenger born from truck and bike tubes. It has all the same features as its little brother, but it has more storage and more pockets, including a large interior zipper pocket and a couple elastic pockets designed to secure water bottles.
The Recycler will be available by the end of November for $130, while the Vulcar is currently available for $150. www.greengurugear.com
