Petzl Tikka2 Contest
October 28, 2009, 11:38 pm
When it comes down to it, the bigger you are the more gear you could win. At least with Petzl’s Tikka2 contest, where you have the chance to win your weight in Petzl gear.
Headlamps, carabiners, belay devices, ice axes, crampons, helmets, and pretty much any other Petzl gear could be yours. And that’s just for the first-place winners of the photo and video contest. If you finish in 2nd through 50th place you still walk away with at least a Tikka Plus2 headlamp.
To enter, create a photo or two-minute video that shows “The Power of Light” or answers “what do you do with your headlamp.” Do what you must to spice it up because you’ll be judged by a handful of professional photographers or videographers.
But there’s a catch. If you’re one of the two grand-prize winners, your schwag can’t exceed 10,000 euros (about $15,000). Now wipe the drool from your chin and go shoot some footage. http://video-contest.tikka2.com

Always read the fine print, beware the rights grab! Before submitting to the contest, make sure you’re OK with these conditions…
Duplication for media (DVD / HDVD / Blue ray / CD / mini-DV, HDV, BETA, non-restrictive list). Possibility of free insertion of these media in magazines.
Transfer of these rights to the Site of the Organizing Body and of its partners (distributors, retailers, community websites, Flick-R servers, non-restrictive list) for a period of 5 years from the date of the 1st upload by the Participant. During this period, it is possible that the Creation be integrated into other Internet sites with the function.
It is possible that the Creation be printed on any type of media (paper, plastic, glass, etc., non-restrictive list), in the context of the Petzl / Power of Light promotion, and notably in the design of stands, fairs, expositions, and in the publication of any media such as catalogues, workbooks, fliers, posters, non-restrictive list.
It is possible that the Creation be printed in an advertising format in magazines, in the context of the Petzl / The Power of Light / TIKKA² promotion. Each winner thus accepts that his creation be modified in order to add the logo of the Organizing Body, the address of its Site, and the photo, name, description and technical specifications of the TIKKA² product. The Organizing Body must on this latter point expressly advise the Participant in advance that his Creation will be distributed.
