As a puffy and fibrous synthetic down, PrimaLoft insulation is most often used in winter jackets for warmth. But a water bottle from Hydrapak adds PrimaLoft in between its double-wall plastic, creating an insulated vessel to keep your water cool.

Called the Wooly Mammoth, Hydrapak released a version of this bottle last year, but it quickly sold out on the company’s site. This year’s Wooly bottle is redesigned, and it will ship to retailers for sale this fall.

I have long used PrimaLoft-insulated jackets, and I trust the stuff to keep me warm. Hydrapak touts similar thermo-regulating benefits with the bottle. It will keep drinks at a more stable temp for longer than a regular bottle, be it hot liquid or cold.

Beyond the puff, this is a pretty normal 20oz. bike bottle design, though with a flexible polypropylene body that’s BPA free. The bottle will cost $16 when it comes onto the market for sale in the fall. —Stephen Regenold
