Prize of the Day: Wilderness Survival School
June 28, 2010, 12:38 pm
From tents and backpacks, to headlamps, knives, footwear, jackets, and apparel, our “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke” event on July 11th in Roanoke, Va., promises to be one of the biggest gear extravaganzas ever envisioned! From the prize pool, here’s today’s gear pick of the day. . .
Gear of the Day: Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School
Why you want to win this gear! Mountain Shepherd Wilderness Survival School in Catawba, Virginia, is giving away four certificates for wilderness-survival classes! In the “Survival 101” class, you’ll learn “important life-saving wilderness skills, acquire confidence, and eliminate wilderness fears.” The two-day, one night course helps students gain a foundation in wilderness survival. More advanced, the “Humble Thunder” course has curriculum including map and compass navigation and “survival challenges.” It is the company’s most difficult — yet most popular! — course offering. (Four days, three nights, co-ed, 18+.) http://www.mountainshepherd.com/
