Top-mounted helmet cameras are common in snowsports. But the high-mounted look is just not cool, plus snagging trees and objects is always a potential as you shred.

Enter the Edit. This new snowsports helmet from Giro has a GoPro-friendly mount built in on front. A camera can snap off and on with ease, and it will film perfect point-of-view footage from your forehead looking out at a scene.

It works with GoPro and other popular helmet camera models. The mount eliminates the need for straps or adhesive mounts that can clutter a helmet and cause convenience issues.

As a bonus, Giro touts the Edit as among the lightest hard hats ever built for snow. It has 12 vents, an anti-bacterial lining, and it weighs just 380 grams.

We’re looking forward to ditching the “Teletubby” look of top-mounted cameras next ski season. The Edit will cost $170 when it comes to market later this year.
