A skier crashes into a tree at 1:07. Our contributing editor, Sean McCoy, makes a cameo a couple minutes in. Check out this video from last weekend’s ski-mountaineering race in Vail at the Winter Mountain Games in Colorado. Frost bite, ice beards, white-outs, skiers sketching on a rocky chute. . . this video is a good primer on the sport of SkiMo and a quick look at the challenges — going up and down — that participants face.
