SPOT launches 'Social Hub'
September 29, 2009, 9:26 am
Not only does the SPOT Satellite GPS Messenger allow you to check in with family members while you’re out exploring. But now you can share your adventure via the company’s social hub, www.spotadventures.com.
SPOT’s Adventures Web site allows users to customize a profile, integrate their route with Google Maps, and share photos or blog posts that correspond with various tagged GPS spots along the way.
Friends and family members can log on to see a map of where you took specific photos. You can add comments about locations along your route. With a click of a button, the site also allows you to share your content via social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Digg and Flickr.
The site, which has already been integrated with various events like the Primal Quest adventure race, is currently live with tens of thousands of registered users, according to the company. Check it out at www.spotadventures.com.
