VFF Contest, part II

Same deal as last week. . . as a part of our SPOT the Holiday’ promotion, we’re giving away a pair of Vibram FiveFingers minimalist shoes (pick from the latest FiveFingers TrekSport or Bikila models!) to the person with the best response to the question Why do you NEED a pair of FiveFingers shoes this winter? It’s that simple. Answer in 140 characters or less (or about two sentences) on GearJunkie’s Facebook page or on Twitter using the hashtag #SPOTHOLIDAY.

We’ll assess all the answers and pick the one we subjectively think is the best. Be creative and fun, and make a good case for why you need VFF shoes! Contest ends Friday, Dec, 10, at 11:59p.m. Good luck!

Do you want us to be creative and fun or do you want to hear our sob stories? I need a pair of VFF’s because I lost my a pair of old navy flip flops at a Gulf gas station.

Creative and fun. But with a worthy story/cause/notion to prop it up and make your “need” for the VFFs valid and true.

I need @Vibram5Fingers b/c they would help me avoid injuries and have stronger muscles – and they look great! We have two mortgages now and VFF just don’t fit in the budget.

I live in Rochester, NY and running in barefeet, outdoors in the winter is a sure fire way to end an otherwise budding running carrer. My cold blue toes need VFF to survive!

I must win these VFFs
For barefoot they are but the best
Gorilla feet they say
I give not a hey
They’ll let me monkey around here out west

The Vibram Five Fingers would be such a great gift for my gf Angela who likes to trek and does not know how to drive so has to walk everywhere. Besides she is from India and it would be such a special thing for her to take home.

okay running makes my knees hurt but a fun hike in the woods or climb up the side of the roof is fun in the winter. These would be helpful since my feet get cold in the snow without a wrapping

I want to be the guy at the next campout that they say has the monster feet

What time zone is that 11:59 in, so I know when it ends.

Posted by Editor - 12/10/2010 08:08 PM

Central Time. It will take us a while to sort thru all responses and declare the winner. Look for that notice on Sat. night or Sunday! Thanks for all who entered.

For future contests, would it be possible to submit right here via the comments section, since I use neither Facebook nor Twitter?

Posted by Editor - 12/11/2010 10:47 AM

Willy – yes, we do contests like that, too.

I am 71 and doing senior sprints. I started because of your article on Jim Hammond whowas sprinting in his 90s. I need to know if these will allow me to go faster. I’ve signed up for five races this winter. Thanks

Mary – Rock it! Awesome.

I’m always having to run against people younger than me. I’m 71. I want to know if these shoes give me an edge. I need all the help I can get. Thanks, Mary Sharon
