Treasure Hunt: Grand Prize!
July 7, 2010, 4:25 pm
You’ve been waiting to hear. Today, it’s official: Our “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke” event — this weekend on Sunday, July 11 — will award a $7,000 SylvanSport GO trailer as the Grand Prize!
Among the more unique products in the outdoors industry, the GO (official msrp: $6,995) once received an award from the Industrial Designers Society of America. It comes packed as a low-profile bullet of a trailer with a strong aluminum frame that can be adorned with racks for bikes, kayaks or skis.
At a campsite — or far in the wilderness away from any neighbors — the trailer’s integrated tent roof pops open and folds out origami-style to reveal a substantial room inside.
The spacious and weather-proof pod has windows, walls, zippered doors, a stair step, bed platforms, and a table. I wrote about the trailer after a test last summer, calling it a “brave new concept in the age-old category of the pop-up tent trailer.”
One racer at our event will win the GO trailer on this Sunday, July 11. Sign up now for your chance to run the Treasure Hunt course and win! http://gearjunkie.com/treasure-hunt-roanoke
About Gear Junkie’s “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke”:
A first-of-its kind event, the Gear Junkie’s “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke” will award more than $40,000 in outdoor gear to an estimated 300 participants. The event, which takes place Sunday, July 11, in Roanoke’s Explore Park, will blend elements from adventure racing with a substantial gear scavenger hunt the likes of which have never been seen. Gear Junkie’s Treasure Hunt: Roanoke event is presented in cooperation with the Roanoke Regional Partnership. More info: http://gearjunkie.com/treasure-hunt-roanoke
I’m curious to hear how long it takes to setup and pull down. Looks like a great option for those looking for a bit more than a tent and not wanting to drive a larger vehicle around. I also wonder how kid/dog proof it is as it might nicely suit a couple with a few young ones.
