Specialized 'Carve Pro 29' Grand Prize at GJ Treasure Hunt
October 17, 2011, 9:49 am / Categories: Biking
In just six days, this coming Sunday, October 23, in Roanoke, Va., we will host the second annual “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke,” an event where tens of thousands of dollars worth of outdoors gear is up for grabs! You need to come if you’re in the area — all participants are guaranteed BIG swag, including backpacks, sleeping bags, gadgets, and your choice among dozens of other top-end outdoors goods.
Last week we announced a Raleigh road bike and a Necky kayak as grand prizes. Today, we’re happy to unveil another big time sponsor, Specialized Bicycles, and the company is jumping in with both feet at our treasure hunt to give away a sweet mountain bike, the $2,000 Carve Pro 29!
Gear Junkie’s ‘Treasure Hunt: Roanoke’ is a marquee event in the city’s new weekend-long “Roanoke Outdoor Circus” festival. Like last year, when more than 350 participants scoured the woods on our course in Roanoke, you will get a map with pre-marked checkpoints. The racers who find the most flags (and punch their cards to prove it) will get bumped to the head of the line to pick from the bikes, the boat, and the literal pile of additional gear.
All racers are guaranteed a prize! See our spread of sponsors here. Details and registration forms are here: Gearjunkie.com/treasure-hunt-roanoke. Hope you can join us in Roanoke this weekend for the hunt!
