One of the arguably most competitive fields in North American ultra-running toed the line at the Lake Sonoma 50-mile on April 12, 2014. From familiar names of the sport of ultrarunning like Rob Krar, Stephanie Howe and Max King to the emerging stars in the likes of Emily Harrison, Alex Varner and Zach Miller, the wealth of talent made this race one for the ages.

This video by Billy Yang does a great job of compressing the 6+ hours of action as Zach Miller (6:11:10) and Emily Harrison (7:26:15) run to wins, both setting new course records. —Sean McCoy
