But they make almost no money from their “profession.” For these folks, Xtreme Sports Insurance offers supplementary event insurance that costs less than $20. The policy covers out-of-pocket medical expenses for an injury that is sports-related. The company calls it “affordable accident insurance for extreme and action sports athletes.”

The Draper, Utah, company, launched last spring, aims to provide “affordable, user-friendly accident and injury insurance to a population who are notoriously uninsured and regularly injured.” This includes “extreme sports participants,” the company cites.
