Big Bulls and Learning Curves in ‘Beyond the Kill’ Hunting Series

A new series from the folks at the Journal of Mountain Hunting aims to add a bit of elk-iness to your quarantine hunting daydreams.

In six short yet packed episodes, Adam Janke and his JOMH team tackle two separate and challenging elk hunts as part of their Year of the Elk.

The first three episodes spotlight fresh-out-of-the-city urbanite Matt Ward as he chases elk for the first time in the Kootenays. And the final three feature Janke and fellow JOMH editor and guide Nolan Osbourne as they pursue Roosevelt elk in British Columbia.

Both stories encompass stressors, difficulties, and the kind of struggles that make hunting just that. Each episode hovers around 12 minutes, functioning as the perfect elk-y break from your workday. Find the first installment above and all six episodes here.
