Usually you don’t hear a lot of talking in dive videos. Not so here, and the diver’s excitement is quite understandable.
The diver is a member of the Schmidt family in Florida who discovered more than $1 million in gold from a Spanish wreck while subcontracting for treasure hunting company 1715 Fleet–Queens Jewels LLC.
The loot came from the Capitana, the flagship of a Spanish treasure fleet, and included 51 gold coins, 40 ft. of gold chain and a Tricentennial Royal, an extremely rare Spanish coin valued at over $500,000, according to Florida Today.
