Conrad Anker and David Lama set out to climb Lunag Ri in 2016. During the pair’s second attempt, Anker survived a heart attack.

“Lunag Ri – David Lama & Conrad Anker walk the line” shows stunning mountaineering footage of Lama and Anker, two of the world’s best alpinists, attempting Lunag Ri, an unclimbed 6,907-meter peak.

Anker’s heart attack occurs around the 20-minute mark, but the rest of the video shows daring alpine climbing. Thankfully, he was able to navigate down the mountain after to safety.

Upon getting to camp, Anker said openly to the camera, “Well, I always wondered when I was going to get the message that it’s time to let go of this game. And I think I got it.”
