Goliath grouper are enormous fish, and this seven-footer is a classic example. This is the first known Goliath caught from a stand up paddle board, and it looks like a real struggle.

Captain Ben Chancey landed (and we presume released) the huge fish off the East Coast of Florida. The grouper pulled Chancey off of his board and he still crawls back on top finishes catching it. You’ll notice he’s tethered to a boat, which they say was done as a courtesy to other anglers in the area. Without the tether, we’d imagine he would have gone for quite a ride.

It would have been nice to see him release it without help from the boat, but understand the difficulty of wrangling such a big fish.
