French web developer Maxime Dehaye is not the first person to send a GoPro into the stratosphere. Still, we can’t stop watching this beautiful footage.

On December 8th, Dehaye and a couple of friends launched a 3-pound weather ballon into the stratosphere from France. Attached to the giant balloon was a box carrying batteries, sensors, two GPS trackers, and no less than four cameras!

The cameras included a Canon T4i camera, a GoPro Hero Black camera, and two Mobius Action cams.

Ready to launch!

It took the balloon 90 minutes to travel about 14 miles straight up into the atmosphere before popping and plummeting back down to the ground. What a trip! —Amy Oberbroeckling

Quite a view from up there
