We tested them in spring weather, where the boots were fine for dry and muddy trails alike. They are among the most flexible and light traditional boots in this review.

Sole tread, with 5mm lug depth, is trail-running influenced but made to be all-purpose across different terrain. Chaco, known for its sandals, has a nice entry with the Hinterland, which we see as a model right in between a hiking boot and a trail running shoe.
