Follow Jake Mageau and Brady Perron as the skier-and-filmmaker duo take to the road in search of killer skiing and big fish in ‘Something in the Water.’

Skiing and fly fishing — what more could anyone want from a wintertime road trip? It’s Jake Mageau’s ideal vacation, and it makes for a damn good little ski edit.

In “Something in the Water” by Brady Perron, Mageau is the “something.” And the water looks … really cold.

But fly fishing is a year-round sport, so why wouldn’t he pop into the river between shred sessions on the rails and in deep powder? The slow, meditative, repetitive action of casting a line is the perfect contrast to the explosive, big-air powder and park skiing that Mageau has built his name on.

Of course, the short film couldn’t have been possible without the support of Level 1, 686, Fat Tire, and ON3P Skis. And it wouldn’t have come together at all without the stylish and aesthetically satisfying filmmaking of Perron. Mageau and Perron make the perfect skier-and-filmmaker duo.

“Something in the Water” is a brief and beautiful little ski (and fly fishing) edit. If you’ve got 10 minutes to burn, it’s a film full of flavor.

Runtime: 10 minutes
