A train derailment in Nevada damaged dozens of brand new vehicles, among them coveted and brand new-to-market Jeep Gladiators.

The Jeep Gladiator is among the most anticipated vehicles in recent years. The Jeep pickup is very cool and has created a tremendous buzz. Shoot, every single Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition (a $62,000 truck) sold out in 24 hours!

But some buyers will be waiting a little longer to get theirs after a train derailment mashed up a bunch of beautiful, brand new vehicles on Wednesday.

According to reports, Lincoln County Sheriff Kerry Lee said that the crash “was the most spectacular mess he has seen, with mostly new Jeep Rubicons and pickup trucks destroyed in the derailment.”

Ouch!

Jeep Gladiator: What’s the Buzz About?

If you’ve been generally ignoring truck news for the last year, here’s your catch-up. The Jeep Gladiator is a midsize U.S. pickup that offers a solid front axle and 33-inch tires from the factory. It has a max towing of 4,000-7,650 pounds depending on trim, options, and transmission.

We tested the 2020 Jeep Gladiator and found it to be an exceptionally capable off-road vehicle, but what probably grabs enthusiasts’ attention the most is its looks. The thing is just badass — and you can even get it as a convertible! Who doesn’t want to tear around Jeep trails in a pickup, top-down, hair blowing in the wind, on the way to a trout hole?
