In 2017, Joe ‘Stringbean’ McConaughy set both the supported and self-supported records on the Appalachian Trail. This video documents his efforts, told largely from a first-person point of view.

Stringbean shocked the world in 2017 when he ran all 2,190 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 45 days, 12 hours, 15 minutes. His record has since fallen to Karel Sabbe, yet his feat of endurance remains one of the most impressive human accomplishments.
