Just in time for the ING New York City Marathon on Nov. 3, New Balance released NYC-themed versions of the 890v4 and 990v3 road running shoes in retail stores this month.

Dedicated to the runners who dash through all four boroughs each year they carry the slogan “powered by NYC.”

The NYC 890v4 ($120) has a street art-influenced design with bright colors and elements from the Brooklyn Bridge to a cement-colored Abzorb Crash Pad and vibrant graphics. This style is the first release of the updated 890 series with improved cushioning properties, redesigned support and increased toe spring. It has 8mm drop neutral sole built with individual pods of foam.

The USA-made, Limited Edition NYC 990v3 ($175) draws inspiration from the city’s history in team sports with color palettes from New York City sports teams. The shoe’s blown rubber outsole provides lightweight cushioning in this conventional-lasted design. The stability shoe weighs in at 13.4 oz.
