Here’s the full story of Chaehyun Seo’s success on the classic Spanish 5.15. Verdict? She absolutely crushed it.

If Chaehyun Seo’s ascent of La Rambla (5.15a) proves anything, it’s that this young phenom has plenty of runway ahead of her.

Back in 2017, Margo Hayes became the first woman to climb 5.15 when she bagged this same route. Like Seo, Hayes was 19 years old when she sent the legendary line.

Watching Seo float up the route with seemingly little difficulty, it’s easy to imagine that she’s one of the young climbers likely to set new standards for the sport in the coming years.

Perhaps one day soon, Seo herself will be establishing the next seminal line in sport climbing.
