Reebok Nano X2 Froning

reebok nano x2

Co-designed by the “Fittest Man on Earth” (an actual award), Rich Froning Jr., Reebok’s Nano X2 Froning marks the lightest-weight iteration of the brand’s marquee fitness shoe. The Nano X2 Froning edition is an homage to not only Froning’s fitness legacy, but also his love of racecars. It weighs 10.4 ounces (size 9), and has a 7mm drop and an open mesh upper. Available in white and black, the Nano X2 Froning retails for $150 and will be available November 3.

Carhartt x Rumpl Puffy Poncho

United by a shared love for getting outside, the Carhartt x Rumpl collection offers a mix of fun and functional outdoor gear. The line includes a first-of-its-kind Puffy Poncho ($199), with a 100% post-consumer recycled shell and water-repellent DWR, and it’s lined with Carhartt Sherpa fleece. The full Carhartt x Rumpl collection is available at Rumpl.com, and in select Carhartt, Scheels, and Dick’s Sporting Goods retail locations.

Darn Tough x Salmon Sisters Work Socks

Salmon Sisters Emma Teal Laukitis and Claire Neaton are the brains behind two new sock styles in Darn Tough’s Work category. The Emma Claire and Stanley K ($25) are both mid-calf styles that aim to provide warmth, plus all-day comfort in any pair of boots, “even rubber deck boots during 20-hour fishing days in Alaska,” according to the collaborators. “When we learned that the Salmon Sisters were already fans of our brand, it was easy to collaborate with [them],” said Jake Largess, Product and Retail Marketing Manager at Darn Tough. “Tough is in our name, and it’s in their blood.”

Shift Moonwalker

“Walk at the speed of a run.” The folks at Shift Robotics believe the world of personal mobility starts (and ends) at your feet. The Moonwalkers look like Heelys on steroids but are actually closer to a high-tech evolution of the Segway. Moonwalkers are packed with AI machine learning, so, according to Shift, they respond when you move and stop when you stop. In fact, the brand says its Moonwalkers will increase your walking pace by 250%. The downside? They only offer a 6.5-mile “range.” The upside? They are rechargeable. Live now on Kickstarter, Moonwalkers offer all this tech at a premium price: $1,400.

POC Fovea Clarity

For this winter, POC is launching the Fovea and Fovea Mid Clarity lenses ($200). The new photochromic lenses should give users enhanced vision and focus in an array of conditions. Basically, a photochromic lens is clear indoors and darkens when exposed to sunlight. These new photochromic lenses will have a VLT (Visible Light Transmission) of 13-55% and fall in Categories 1-3 (which cover the range of cloudy to sunny conditions).

COROS POD 2

COROS aims to bring even more data to running athletes with its POD 2, released today. The POD 2 ($99) is a small (0.2 ounces) device that mounts either on a shoe or waistband. Paired with your COROS watch, it adds data such as stride height, ground contact time, stride ratio, left-right balance, and more. It can also calculate “Effort Pace,” which COROS says will allow runners to “see a pace on their wrist and in their COROS app, which accurately reflects their true effort.” We’re currently testing and will report back more soon.

Maloja Viturin Insulated Pants

These unisex insulated pants are the first thing that caught our eye in Maloja’s fall/winter 2022 collection. Made for cold days, the Viturin pants ($189) have PrimaLoft BIO insulation, and can be used as an insulator under ski or shell pants, or on their own! The pants come in four styles and have ribbed leg cuffs to keep weather and cold out, and side zippers for easy removal.

Harris Reed Designer Lexus Rims

Dorothy would have had an easier time finding her way back to Kansas in a Lexus RX, am I right? Designer Harris Reed thinks so, and event went so far as to design a “Ruby Red Rim” and debuted the full set at W Magazine‘s 50th Anniversary party in New York City this month. The solid aluminum back sports gloss-sealed glitter, and is LED-lit while the Lexus logo sits in the ruby core. “Fins reveal the ruby red color from different angles, creating a magical moment that celebrates the iconic power of the shoes and the rims,” Lexus boasts in a press release. “A dramatic color change signifies the transition between worlds, immersing viewers in the journey.” No, they’re not an available upgrade, but Lexus said the stylish rims will make appearances across the country later this year.
