That’s now a patently true statement, after Tjäder slid, balanced, and styled his way to a world record rail slide on skis last year.

Check out Tjäder’s 506-foot, high-speed balancing act here. The fun part about watching a grind in any discipline is the tension: Can the rider maintain focus and defy gravity all the way to the end of the rail, or will a miscalculation force them off?

The tiniest error can lead to a slam — but the longer the rider holds the rail, the more adjustments they need to make.

Tjäder’s body awareness looks well-tuned in this short clip of his 127th effort at the record. Speaking of which, he sought to leave no doubt that it belonged to him — Red Bull pegs the old record at 422 feet.
