Solar Tent — Like a mini solar-powered home, a tent from Eddie Bauer, called the Power Katabatic, offers a sun-soaking array on top of its roof and outlet plugs inside. The panel array is made by Goal Zero. You let the panel passively absorb light all day.

Wires transfer power inside, where the solar electricity is stored in a Goal Zero power pack. When you need a device recharged the tent offers outlets to plug in gadgets like iPhones, GPS units, and cameras via USB or a 12v plug. Tent is $499. Solar unit costs an additional $300+ depending on the Goal Zero configuration.
