The Thermacell MR300 Portable Mosquito Repeller repels mosquitoes by creating a 15-foot zone of protection for your hunt, campsite, backyard, or adventure outings.

Thermacell tackled the challenge for a powerful zone mosquito repellent that actually works. And with its “scent-free” design, campers, anglers, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts can explore the outdoors without the threat of being eaten up by mosquitoes.

The MR300 boasts long-lasting mosquito protection for up to 12 hours with its refill system, using a small fuel cartridge and repellent mats. The idea? To provide a swat-free experience that doesn’t rely on cords, candles, or sprays.

With fall hunts, campouts, and backyard hangs right around the corner, it’s important to have a plan to keep those pesky bugs at bay.

Get Bugged Less

The MR300’s portable construction works great for anyone who likes outdoor activities and doesn’t want to be pestered by mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes hate this device’s secret sauce: a powerful, heat-activated repellent. A small fuel cartridge provides heat that is directed to a metal grill, which has a mat saturated with repellent on top. The heat disperses the repellent into the air, creating a 15-foot zone of protection.

The mosquito-fighting compound itself is allethrin, a synthetic copy of a natural repellent found in chrysanthemum plants. Each Thermacell MR300 product comes with a butane cartridge and a three-pack of refillable mosquito repellent mats.

Ideally, you want the repeller to push its area of repellent around you. While the device works best while stationary, you can transport it easily using the belt clip in the housing. Additionally, you can buy an APCL Holster separately for the unit. On breezy days, you may choose to mount it upwind, on a tree branch, or on a camp chair.

The key is to keep the MR300 physically close to you so you stay inside the 15-foot mosquito-protected zone.

Updated Design

This MR300 is part of the fourth generation of the original Thermacell repeller, which has been selling for 21 years in 30 countries. We reviewed its cousin, the MR450, in 2018 and found it a valuable hunting companion.

The MR300 includes the latest design enhancements. These include a quieter ignition, a re-engineered grill and switch for better performance when upright, an accessory mounting system, and improved ergonomics.
