Patagonia’s Worn Wear Wagon is hitting the road for 3 weeks to repair fishing gear in the Pacific Northwest.

And if you’re lucky, it just might be coming to a town near you.

Why Worn Wear?

Since 2013, Patagonia’s Worn Wear program has saved countless items of clothing destined for the landfill. Through patching, sewing, and repairing used items, the program seeks to extend the life of what we’re wearing. And doing this also cuts back substantially on carbon, water, and waste footprints.

Worn Wear offers a few routes to extend the life of its garments. You can trade in old Patagonia items and earn credit toward new or used gear. The company also sells gear it repaired at reduced costs as part of the internal program. And it built a substantial educational component on the site to help people repair garments at home.

The Wagon is the external force behind the program.

What About the Wagon?

Patagonia Worn Wear Wagon

Patagonia equipped the Worn Wear Wagon to fix waders and clothing. And it welcomes all brands into the repair shop. Ted Manning, Patagonia’s director of Fish, expands on why the brand is branching out.

“We know that no matter whose gear you use, if you are lucky enough to get out and use it a lot, it will wear out. This Worn Wear tour is the convergence of those two ideas: get people back on the water and keep the gear they’ve loved going with them,” he said.

In addition to fixing waders, all garments are welcome, as are non-anglers. The tour is stopping at six towns across the Pacific Northwest.
