These stylish, full-grain-leather boots have a waterproof barrier and 200 g of PrimaLoft Gold insulation to keep feet dry and warm in frigid temps. Plus, the Vibram Arctic Grip outsole is unique in that it’s specifically designed to give extra traction in wet and icy conditions (read more on Arctic Grip here).
One of our editors tested Danner’s Mountain 600 Insulated boot last winter freezing temps. The boots’ warmth and comfort have impressed him — keeping his feet comfortable down to -10 degrees Fahrenheit.
To test traction, he explored frozen lakes and icy trails and has yet to slip. He thinks the Arctic Grip helps on flatter terrain, but he brings spikes for steep hikes. So far, he is happy with the overall performance of these low-height boots and is excited to wear them through the rest of winter.
Our team loves the Danner Mountain 600 Insulated boot and even chose it as one of the Best Winter Boots for Men of the year.
