The Patagonia Nano Puff jacket is a fan favorite. It packs down small into its own side pocket, making it great for hiking, fishing, skiing, travel, or throwing in your pack just in case.
Two GearJunkie staff recently used the famed jacket on a backpacking and fishing trip in Wyoming. With temps between 20 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit, it was nice to have a warm hoodie to put on when we stopped hiking and when we got to camp. Plus, it packed away easily when we didn’t need it.
Another tester wrote in a review, “The Nano Puff is a sleek-looking coat. And that sleekness helps it compress comfortably under other gear — in a backpack or as an ideal layer for winter snow sessions. In fact, it continues to get lighter: The Nano Puff has lost over one ounce since its inception.”
