What happens when you combine minds from some of the best brands in the bike industry? They create a new bike brand years in the making: Revel Bikes.

Revel founder Adam Miller has an impressive history in the bike world, especially considering his young age. The founder of Borealis and Why Cycles has now taken his years of experience and desire to only make bikes he wants to ride, and launched what he’s claiming are the best trail bikes the world has ever seen.

And to do it, he enlisted the help of other industry heavy hitters like Jason Schiers (co-founder of Enve and a carbon layup genius), Jeremiah Starkey (Rockshox, Trust Performance, Selle Royal), and Mike Giese and Chris Reichel (Why Cycles, Industry Nine).

The new brand launched today with two carbon full-suspension offerings aimed at aggressive all-mountain riding. Meet Revel.

Revel Cycles

The Carbondale, Colorado-based brand greets the cycling world with two debut bikes. First, the Rail is built on a 27.5-inch wheel platform and is designed to take the biggest hits you can throw at it with 170 mm of travel up front and 165 mm in the rear.

Meanwhile, Rail’s little brother, the Rascal, is built on a 29-inch wheel platform. And with 140 mm of travel up front and 130 mm in back, Revel claims it’s as comfortable ripping lunch loops as it is spending all day taking in the views above the treeline.

Revel Bikes: ‘Canfield Balance Formula’

At the heart of the design is the Canfield Balance Formula (CBF). Feel free to take a deep dive into the suspension tech here. But basically, the CBF claims to create the most efficient yet active pedaling platform — independent of sag, travel, drivetrain, and braking forces.

This means no matter where you are in the travel, what terrain you’re on, or how much power you’re putting down, you’re getting the maximum pedaling efficiency.

In addition to boasting “two of the best bikes the world has ever seen,” Revel said it wants to offer the best customer service and purchasing experience.

“We really take pride in giving you the ultimate bike buying experience and offer several custom options on our website,” said Chris Reichel, Revel’s director of stoke. “We even go so far as making sure you get the biggest dropper post. Just let us know your seat height, and we will put the biggest 125, 150, or 170mm post on your bike.”

On top of that, Revel aims to run an environmentally conscious business. Not only will the brand reduce cardboard waste by shipping bikes in reusable Evoc travel cases, but it also pledged to keep its break room free of plastic utensils and paperware (but always stocked with cold beer and fine bourbon).

Revel bikes are available for purchase beginning today on Revel’s site and select bike shops in the U.S. Complete bikes start at $4,999, with framesets retailing for $2,599.

All complete bikes come equipped with SRAM components and either Industry Nine or Enve Wheel options. And every Revel bike also comes with a lifetime warranty and crash replacement policy. That’s good insurance for when you point down the mountain and let it rip.
