Start doing mobility work. Seriously.

That sport you’re doing is great — really. Do you know what else it’s doing to you? It’s creating imbalances in your body.

You might feel like a god when you’re skiing, running, or biking. But just like Icarus, your body will crash and burn if you don’t address its underlying weaknesses.

If you only do your sport, important muscles will stop firing, and your body will compensate until it can’t — usually when you’re at a critical point in the race you care most about.

Not sure where to start? Do the Founder’s pose. Touch your toes. Do Warrior I. Hell, do a free 20-minute YouTube yoga class.

That’s a great first step. Many athletes will find this helps avoid injury in training and improve fitness overall.
