Find joy in the process.

How many times have you heard someone at the gym say, “I just need to get through this workout,” or “ugh, not looking forward to this one”?

It’s all too common to focus on the desired end result and view the process as a necessary evil. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

It’s difficult to make habits out of things that we dread or simply don’t enjoy. If you can find enjoyment in the process it takes to get that desired fitness goal, then you’re much more likely to be successful.

Make a playlist of some of your best workout jams for those tough workouts, set a minor goal to make the workout more fun, or challenge a buddy to complete the workout with you.

Creating challenges or games along the way can inject some fun into the process. And we’re much more likely to keep going when we’re having fun.
