Those from the frozen north embrace their frigid winters; there’s not much else you can do to stay sane during the dark, cold months. So just because the water’s frozen, there’s no reason you shouldn’t go for a swim!

These two videos, one from Minnesota and one from Finland, portray the “sport” of snow swimming in all its silly glory.

Shane Campbell and his friend “Scuba Steve” take the plunge in Duluth in this short video that makes me wish they had a hot tub to jump into after this chilly dip in the winter pow.

In Finland they take their snow swimming very seriously at the “2013 Championships.” According to the YouTube post, the competitors aren’t drunk! That’s about all the info needed on this self-explanatory video. —Sean McCoy
