Snowboarder Robbie Walsh has followed a dream to ride around the world, in competitions, and into the backcountry, currently from his home base in Oregon. We follow the sponsored rider during a typical early-season day in the Pacific Northwest, where a split-board setup allows Walsh to skin deep into the backcountry in search of snow.

Each segment of the film has footage captured in 360 degrees with a new type of video camera called the V.360° Camera from VSN Mobil. This is the second video in our “Fringe 360” series with VSN, including a film on cold-weather cycling, “Rules Of The (Winter) Road.”

“Early Season Snow” was shot and edited by Joshua Van Patter, himself a veteran boarder based in Portland, Ore. Walsh would like to recognize sponsors Rome Snowboards, Smith Optics, DC, and Second Wind Sports in Hood River, Ore.
