Planning their own route, six runners made ‘Bird Strike’ the first all-woman team to complete the grueling Speed Project race.

Now in its third year, The Speed Project, a foot-race from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, saw its first all-female team complete the course setting a women’s Fastest Known Time in the process.

Bird Strike members Devon Yanko, Sarah Overpeck, Cathleen Knutson, Sarah Bard, Collier Lawrence, and Nora Bird relayed and leap-frogged 340 miles through the desert sun in 44 hours 27 minutes 11 seconds. Their story is downright awesome.
