GearJunkie Partners To Host 'Urban Race'

For the second year in a row, GearJunkie is partnering with Twin Cities In Motion, the company behind the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, to host a unique in-the-city adventure race, the TC Urban Dash.

Held on August 9th, solo racers or teams will decipher clues and perform tasks around the city’s North Loop neighborhood. There are hidden checkpoints and challenges that balance physical activity with a mental component.

See our recap of last year’s race, including photos from the event at the post “Puzzles, Clues, Physical Challenges on ‘Urban Adventure’ Course.”

The Race: You have 90 minutes to complete the course. Cost is $80 to register for this one-of-a-kind event. See all the details and sign up here. The race is sponsored by FITSOK, and there is a post-race party at the North Loop Fest. (You get a ticket for a beer after completing the race.)

The Swag: Each participant gets a stocked swag bag with a tech T-shirt, a three-pack of FITSOKs, an Urban Sport backpack, and more.

GearJunkie Reader Bonus! Anyone who signs up via GearJunkie (go by this link) will receive a FREE piece of gear from our prize “treasure chest” on site at the race (some items valued at $50 – $100 in the grab bag style bin). You must register here and then email us with your receipt or entry proof to get the prize on race day. Limit to first 50 sign-ups, so act now if you want the bonus gear!

2013 race… And they’re off!

10-Mile Entry: For local runners looking to get into the Medtronic TC 10 Mile race, you get a guaranteed non-complimentary entry with your TC Urban Dash receipt.

We hope to see you in Minneapolis in one month. Race is on!
