KAYAK: 80-Year-Old to Paddle Entire Mississippi River. Navy veteran Stanley Stark has set out to kayak the entire 2,300-mile Mississippi River. It’s the second-largest river in the United States. He started on July 15 and has paddled about 200 miles.
“I figured maybe it would be nice to motivate some of these older people that are kind of sitting on the couch waiting to pass away, and they need to get off the couch,” Stark said, reported WLOX. If he finishes, he’ll set a world record.
DEI: Evolv, Climbing Community Raise Funds for DEI Groups. Evolv partnered with designer Brain Dead and world-renowned climber Ashima Shiraishi to create the Zenist climbing shoe in June.

BIKE: Lael Wilcox Bikes All of Prince of Wales Island. The bikepacking fanatic and Tour Divide champion has been putting down some serious mileage in 2020. Yesterday, Wilcox finished a 5-day tour of the Prince of Wales Island in the Alaska Panhandle, biking every single major road on the island. The trip was 436 miles of riding in 5 days.
