SKI: Numerous Ski Resorts Pledge to Modify Operations, Open for the 2020-21 Season. Various resorts across North America are already bracing for snow.

Eldora Resort, Vail Resort, Park City Mountain, Mt. Brighton, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and more have all announced opening dates for the upcoming season, with modified operations. The National Ski Areas Association has published regulations regarding ski resorts and COVID-19.

BIKE: Adventure Cycling Association Creates New U.S. Bicycle Routes. The ACA has added the first U.S. Bicycle Routes to Wisconsin and California, expanding the reach of the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USBRS) to 29 states.

In Wisconsin, the new routes connect urban Milwaukee to the Mississippi River via off-road trails. In California, a new bike route connects Lake Tahoe to an existing route, providing passage from Nevada to San Francisco. With the new designations, the USBRS now boasts 14,598 miles of routes in 29 states and Washington, D.C.

“Many people have turned to the bicycle for daily commuting, recreation, and tourism. State departments of transportation are committed to providing more travel options to get people where they want to go,” said Jim Tymon at the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

The USBRS national network of numbered and signed bicycle routes are officially designated by the association of state highway and transportation.

RESORT: Vail Resorts Donates $1.5 Million to Youth Organizations Across North America. Vail Resorts donated the funds to 14 nonprofits, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, who work to strengthen communities and support youth of color in urban centers across the country.

The donation is part of a 5-year commitment from Vail Resorts to expand its youth access program and broaden engagement in skiing and riding.
