The lift-served ski season ended in Colorado at many major resorts this weekend, but that didn’t stop nature from dropping a foot of new powder snow. Vail Resorts closed out the season with 13+ inches and also some big name performers — Matisyahu at Breckenridge and Jimmy Cliff at Vail Mountain — and Copper Mountain offered a floating rail in a melt pond among other crowd-pleasing facets around the resort base. —Sunday, April 14, marked closing day for many major ski areas in Colorado (Aspen Mountain, Steamboat, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Snowmass, Copper Mountain, Monarch Mountain, and Eldora). Crested Butte, Telluride, Wolf Creek, Keystone, Sunlight, Ski Cooper, and Purgatory closed April 7. Aspen Highlands and Winter Park close April 21, and Loveland closes May 5. But for die-hard skiers who need a fix, Arapahoe Basin is open still until June!
