I guess it’s called Loveland for a reason. For 22 couples, the Colorado ski area will be the mushy center of the Valentine’s Day universe as they share wedding vows at a lodge high on the ski slopes on Feb. 14. About another 80 couples will renew their vows in the mass ceremony officiated by a minister from the Church Of Light.

Loveland Ski Area will hold its 23rd Annual Valentine’s Day “Marry Me & Ski Free Mountaintop Matrimony” tomorrow, February 14.

Loveland expects about 100 couples to take part in the ceremony, but it’s open to all.

The ceremony is free to all couples with valid lift tickets or season passes and takes place on the deck of The Ptarmigan Roost Cabin at the top of Chair 2. Couples that have pre-registered receive two-for-one lift tickets and free admission to a reception.

So if your idea of a perfect wedding involves snow, some skis and a couple hundred strangers, head on up to Loveland and tie the knot. Hope your fiancé skis too! —Sean McCoy
