Real Ski 2020 is the X Games’ latest competition — and it’s all about urban skiing.

That’s right, in these video edits, young and hungry skiers hit the streets, rails, and other urban scenes to perform the craziest stunts possible — all to achieve the perfect ski edit.

The two-part video edit contest just ended yesterday, so you can no longer vote. But you can watch the winning edits here, or the gold medalist above.

Gold Medal Edit: Jake Mageau, a 22-year-old Dew Tour skier, takes on everything from parking lots to rooftops, highway barriers, and more in this fast-paced, high-heights edit filmed by Oliver Hoblitzelle.

Silver Medal Edit: Emile Bergeron, a twenty-something from Quebec, pushes the limits when it comes to urban skiing. Filmed by Camron Willis and Paul Bergeron, his edit not only shows a lot of air and big drops, but also snippets of what it takes for an urban skier to build, ski, and land stunts of this caliber.

Bronze Medal and Fan Favorite: X Games rookie Alex Hackel goes all out with this ski edit, filmed by Par Hagglund. There are jumps over walls and fences with switch landings, crazy-low film angles, and a unique electronic music track.

Urban skiing requires concrete, brick, or metal surfaces as much as it requires snow. Does skiing down a stairwell or off a rooftop count as “real” skiing? In these edits, you bet it does. And the risks of falling doing these tricks are even higher.
