Bike, Kayak among Prizes for 'Treasure Hunt: Roanoke'
October 9, 2011, 6:42 pm / Categories: Miscellaneous
Have you ever dreamed of an outdoors scavenger hunt where you can collect points for gear in the woods? Two weeks from today, on October 23 in Roanoke, Va., we will host the second annual “Treasure Hunt: Roanoke,” an event in and around Roanoke where tens of thousands of dollars worth of outdoors gear is up for grabs!
‘Treasure Hunt: Roanoke’ is a marquee event in the city’s new weekend-long “Roanoke Outdoor Circus” festival. Like last year, when more than 350 participants scoured the woods on our course in Roanoke, racers this year will have the chance to win hundreds of great prizes, including bikes, kayaks, GPS units, and dozens of other primo pieces of swag.
All racers are guaranteed a prize! See our spread of sponsors here. Participants in the Treasure Hunt this month will have the chance to win items like the Rip 12 kayak from Necky, Raleigh Bicycles’ Revenio 3 road bike, Griptilian knives from Benchmade, Magellan’s eXplorist 710 GPS device, the Earthmate PN-60 and the new inReach devices from DeLorme, Soulra portable sound systems from Eton, and much, much more.
Our goal is to make the Treasure Hunt a “$40,000+ gear extravaganza.” All details and registration forms are here: Gearjunkie.com/treasure-hunt-roanoke. Hope you can join us in Roanoke for the hunt in two weeks!
